Murdaugh, a South Carolina native, practiced law for ten years after receiving a degree in Criminal Justice and a doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of South Carolina.
She worked with the SC Supreme Court, the SC Court of Appeals, and in her private practice. She served as a Municipal judge for fours years.
Her vocational experiences include working for Robeson Community College as an educator in the prison system; and serving as Assistant vice-president and Interim vice-president of Bladen Community College.
Murdough accepted the call into pastoral ministry at the 2005 NC Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Rev. Murdough serves on the district Connectional Table; is a board member of the Rockingham partners in Ministry, chairs Continuing Education, and the Conference Stewardship Commission. She is very active in her community and in many community organizations.
Rev. Murdaugh believes she is an anointed servant of God who spends each day, stepping out into grace, full of grace, and sharing grace with everyone she meets.
