Red Springs High School faculty members won both games Friday evening as senior class members faced off against faculty members in the annual student-faculty basketball game.
Both sides played strong in the men’s game. At halftime, the score was tied 21-21.
In the second half, play resumed with intensity, but the students fell to the faculty, 46-44.
In the women’s game, players faced off against opponents who were usually on their team. Coach Natasha Oxendine found herself playing against players she has coached. The faculty team was joined by Amanda Sinclair, who plays basketball at Fayetteville State University, and she played against her sister, Bobbie.
The faculty led at halftime, 25-17. The faculty raced ahead in the second half, and the final score was 45-27.
The annual event is a fundraiser for the Booster Club.
