Behind a double-double from Alshaquan Williams, the Fairmont boys basketball team claimed an 87-78 win over rival South Robeson on Thursday night, improving to 13-0 on the season.

Jarique Moore dropped 16 points to go with six steals, throwing down a dunk that capped an 8-0 run at the end of the third quarter to give the Fairmont some breathing room.

Davonte Banks scored a game-best 27 points to lead the Mustangs, with Caleb Hunt dropping 18 and Johnny Pipken adding 16 points.

Both teams return to action on Tuesday, with Fairmont hosting Whiteville and South Robeson playing host to St. Pauls.
