LUMBERTON — Major league scouts looking for a big arm could not have been impressed with the failed attempts of six men to hurl drugs into the recreation yard at the Robeson County Detention Center — an effort that earned them residency at the facility.

Sankisa Brayboy, 36, Sabra Oxendine, 21, Charles Justin Oxendine, 36, are each charged with conspiracy to sell or deliver marijuana, felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell marijuana, possession with intent to sell cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and providing drugs to an inmate, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Each is jailed under a $100,000 bond.

Vincent Glenn Locklear, 31, Mark Anthony Lowery, 38, and Ryan Locklear, 30, are each charged with conspiracy to sell or deliver marijuana. Each is under at $50,000 bond.

The six conspired to throw bags of marijuana and cocaine into the jailhouse yard, according to Randall Graham, an investigator with the Sheriff’s Office, but the bags fell short, landing instead on the roof of a detention center building. Their efforts were also seen by law enforcement officers and captured on videotape and they were quickly arrested by Robeson County narcotics agents, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office. No inmates were charged.

“It’s a pretty good toss to get it into the yard,” Graham said. “We’ve not had this happen very often, but we have precautionary measures in place to stop this from happening. Our officers saw what they were trying to do.”

Graham said that the perimeter fence area is under constant observation.

“All of these people were involved and quickly apprehended,” Graham said. “We were there to stop it before anything could reach the recreation yard.”
